Legendary Pictures has premiered the official logo art for the upcoming live-action Detective Pikachu movie based on the popular Pokemon franchise.
Justice Smith will star as a teen whose father is kidnapped which leads him to team up with the yellow furball Pikachu (the voice of Ryan Reynolds) and a young journalist (Kathryn Newton) in order to find him.
Rob Letterman directs and co-wrote the film with Nicole Perlman, the project also starring Ken Watanabe, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora and Bill Nighy.
With Legendary jumping ship from Universal to Warner Bros. Pictures at the end of the year, the film’s proposed May 10th 2019 release is now uncertain at this point.
