We’re just over a month away from the 10-year anniversary of Devil May Cry’s debut in North America, and it looks as if Capcom will be celebrating by re-releasing the first three games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The ESRB website listings for Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening were all recently updated to add PS3 and 360 as their platforms (alongside PS2), reports G4. That’s all the information we have to go on, and it isn’t much; if the games are being re-released, as seems to be the case, it doesn’t indicate if they’re simply being ported to the newer consoles with higher resolutions or if they’ll feature any additional changes.
HD remakes of all three were rumored after a Spanish retailer posted an ad showing such a collection. It was titled the “10th Anniversary Collection” at the time and was dated for November 30, shortly after the first DMC’s 10-year anniversary (in North America) on October 17.
The first three DMC games were collected together once already in the 5th Anniversary Collection, released back in October 2006 on PlayStation 2 (and featuring suspiciously similar artwork to the 10th Anniversary ad). The fourth game was released on PS3, 360, and PC in 2008, and a new game is also in the works titled DmC: Devil May Cry.
