Instead of some Pixar version of of Iron Man or Hulk, the first collaboration between the Disney Animation and Marvel will actually be the Manga-style Big Hero 6, as announced last July. Now the first footage from the movie is online.
With Winnie The Pooh director (a sworn comic book fan) Don Hall aboard, the film will adapt the Big Hero 6 stories created for Marvel by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau.
Our protagonist in this case is brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion – a robot named Baymax – Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city.
Hall and his team have been hard at work on this one, which is set to hit US cinemas on November 7, 2014. The results can be seen in the footage below and some gorgeous concept art above.
