The Battle Pass for the Dota 2 International 2016 is here, and it contains a whole lot of stuff. If you don’t know what it is, the Battle Pass grants you a bunch of in-game items, plus you can level it up in order to unlock even more. This is done by completing quests, winning wagers, unlocking community goals, or putting more real money into it.
The Battle Pass also includes the International Compendium, an interactive resource of player profiles and predictions that will be coming soon. 25 percent of each Battle Pass sale will go towards the overall prize pool for The International tournament.
Here’s what you’ll get in the basic Battle Pass:
- Three immortal treasures
- Seasonal Terrain (Immortal Gardens)
- Taunt
- Weather Effect
- Music Pack
- Cursor Pack
- Evolving Ward
- Emoticon Pack
- Evolving Courier (Onibi)
- HUD
- Loading Screens
- Effigy Block
- Announcer Pack
Quests are objectives you can complete in game, and you can also wager on matches to get bonus Battle Points if you win. Upgrading your Battle Pass will grant you new levels of Immortal Treasure, new in-game effects and taunts, and your courier will begin to change form. If you reach level 1000, the in-game fountain will receive a special glow effect, and you’ll be invited to receive a 1/5th scale alloy replica of the Aegis of Champions.
Last year, the prize pool reached well over $18 million, and this year that record is looking to be broken. If it is, every Battle Pass owner will be granted three extra treasure rewards.
