Having previously released it for desktops, developer Double Fine has brought Broken Age to the iPad. The title is an adventure game in which players control two characters, Vella Tartine and Shay Volta, as they separately try to escape very different situations that have nevertheless trapped them. Players progress in the story through a mix of puzzle-solving and conversations.
Stylistically the game features 2D artwork, a soundtrack by Peter McConnell and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and voice acting by Elijah Wood, Jack Black, Jennifer Hale, Wil Wheaton, and Pendleton Ward. It runs on any iPad with iOS 5 or later, and costs $10. Currently that only includes the first half of the game, Act 1, but Act 2 will be available later as an in-app purchase.
