Lisa Edelstein is checking out of the medical drama House.
In a statement, the US actress said she is leaving the show after seven years as Dr Lisa Cuddy.
She said the decision follows much consideration and brings mixed feelings.
She expressed disappointment at leaving a character she loves playing, but said she is excited about the acting and producing opportunities ahead – though she did not give any details about any upcoming projects.
Earlier this month, Hugh Laurie suggested his award-winning lead role as the show’s maverick medic Dr Gregory Housecould be coming to an end due to the fighting over the show by NBC and Fox TV.
