Dropbox Redesigns UI for iPhone – Adds Full-Screen Photo Viewing, Save-to-Folder

Dropbox announced an update for its iOS app today, one that brings new features for photo navigation, as well as new capabilities with regard to uploading. Dropbox users on iOS devices will now be able to use the Photos tab to directly access all photos they’ve uploaded to the service. They will also be able to access a full-screen view, showing the entire photo with no navigation user interface elements.

In addition to the photo UI changes, Dropbox has streamlined the upload process, allowing users now to simply navigate to the folder of choice and tap the “+” icon. The app has also undergone some subtle redesigning in its presentation. Announcing the update, the Dropbox team focused on nuance and “barely-there” gradients and “delicate lines,” all meant to fit better with the aesthetic of Apple’s mobile operating system.

The new version of Dropbox is available now as a free download in the iTunes App Store.
