The LG DoublePlay has now been made official for T-Mobile. The device sets itself apart from the Android crowd with both split screens and a split keyboard. The main display is 3.5-inches, while the sub-display is 2.5-inches with the second offering a customizable dock interface.
The DoublePlay’s displays are also capable of allowing users to simultaneously surf the Internet while updating their Facebook accounts, for example. The slider device offers users the option of using a physical QWERTY keyboard that is split on each side of the sub-display. Users also have the option of using a software keyboard that also has Swype input capability.
It is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera that has an LED flash and is 720p capable for video recording.
Pricing and an official launch date are forthcoming, although it is though that the DoublePlay is expected to arrive on October 26 for a likely price of $150 on a contract.
