Dwayne Johnson will star in New Line’s earthquake disaster movie, San Andreas, says The Hollywood Reporter. He will reteam with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton on the film, being produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson.
The studio is planning to start filming in April, 2014 for a 2015 release date. According to the trade, “the script is set after a devastating earthquake hits California and centers on a man making a perilous trip across the state to rescue his estranged daughter. Johnson will play that man, described as a rugged rescue helicopter pilot.”
Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore wrote the first draft of the script with Chad and Carey Hayes working on the most current draft.
