Evernote has released a new version of its iOS app, v5.2. The update makes a host of improvements, for instance adding a Snippet view for quickly browsing notes. The core of the upgrade though is a new PDF viewer, which supports multipage previews, content search, reading two pages at once on an iPad, and an in-app rotation lock.
Two new formatting options, Simplify Text and Plain Text, tidy up note content or strip it down to bare formatting, respectively. Evernote Business changes include the ability to set Business Notebooks offline, and view a Business Library from the iPad. PDFs and images can now be opened via email, AirPrint, and third-party apps; along those lines, an option called The Trunk lets users browse for Evernote-connected apps.
Version 5.2 also makes a collection of bugfixes, but for some people has also introduced a new bug that causes the app to crash. “We are testing a fix for this issue and will get a new version to you as quickly as possible,” Evernote says. “In the meantime, uninstalling and reinstalling the app should resolve the issue.”
