Mozilla is working with EverythingMe on a Firefox launcher for Android, the company revealed at the InContext Conference. The launcher is said to be a contextually-aware version that will automatically update to show apps and search for items relevant to the user depending on a number of factors, such as location or time of day.
Little detail has been provided by the company, though it states in a company blog post it “integrates the contextual adaptive app search from EverythingMe with the Firefox for Android Web browser to offer users a personalized and customizable Web experience that is fun and intuitive.” The supplied screenshot shows what appears to be a basic Android homepage with groups of icons, search icons at the top, and an icon for an individual contact close to the center of the screen.
Mozilla states it will share more about the launcher as “soon as development is finished and we get ready for beta testing.”
