Facebook is this week updating its mobile apps with several features. Among these is previously-anticipated OpenTable integration, which will allow North American users to make reservations via a restaurant’s profile page. When making a reservation, people will be able to pick from a selection of available times, and specify their party’s size.
For the foreseeable future, other changes will be limited to the iOS app. These include listings for US movies and TV shows, found on the content’s official pages. The app is separately gaining hashtag search — allowing people to browse certain topics — and a faster, cleaner timeline design on the iPad. A bug that triggered false notification badges has been addressed.
The iOS app has already been updated, but none of the improvements have been added to Facebook’s Android, Windows Phone, or BlackBerry apps.
