The Federal Communications Commission has approved the T-Mobile-Sprint merger, saying the deal will “enhance competition” and hasten 5G deployment.
The panel’s 3-2 vote last month was the final regulatory hurdle for the $26.5 billion deal.
But it won’t close until after a judgment is reached in a multi-state lawsuit alleging that T-Mobile-Sprint the combination of the third- and fourth-biggest U.S. wireless carriers will harm consumers.
