Felicity Huffman is returning to the third season of “American Crime” on ABC. Huffman starred in the first and second seasons, and will take on an entirely new character in Season 3 of the anthology drama from John Ridley. Huffman is the second cast member who’s signed onto Season 3, following Regina King, who is also confirmed for the upcoming season. Timothy Hutton, who also starred in the first two seasons, is expected to make his return in an all-new role.
Though details are still scarce, the new season will be set in North Carolina and the season will deal with labor issues.
For the first season of “American Crime,” Huffman — whose Season 3 return was first reported by Deadline — was nominated for both an Emmy and Golden Globe. She is an Emmy winner from her “Desperate Housewives” days. The critically-acclaimed “American Crime” was nominated for 10 Emmys in its first year with King winning an award. The show is expected to receive a slew of nods next month when Emmy nominated are announced.
