Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC in early 2018, over a year after the critically acclaimed game was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The announcement was made today at Gamescom in Germany with a reveal trailer during a press conference by Nvidia.

“With the help of Nvidia, we are creating a stunning visual experience … one worthy of this beloved franchise,” says Hajime Tabata, the director of the game.

Officially called Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, the gameplay will feature high-resolution textures; Dolby Atmos sound; advanced grass and hair; fluid, fire, and smoke simulation; advanced shadow algorithms; and ambient occlusion, which controls how much light should realistically be shining on each object, according to the trailer. Players will be able to screenshot 360-degree high-resolution images throughout the game (up to 63360 x 35640), and also play in first-person perspective. Nvidia says it has provided Square Enix — the video game company behind the Final Fantasy series — with developer tools and source code to update the gameplay as needed.

The collaboration between Nvidia and Square Enix will also include a feature called ShadowPlay Highlights, which will allow players to automatically record gameplay, edit the clips, and upload them to sites like YouTube. The game’s multiplayer expansion Comrades is included, as well as free updates.
