The CW and DC Entertainment have released the first official look at Tyler Hoechlin as Superman in the upcoming second season of Supergirl! Check it out below!
“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” Supergirl Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg previously said. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
The character previously maintained a presence on the series by keeping up an online correspondence with Kara and even appearing in the opening credits of the show. In addition, a young version of Kal El appeared when Kara was infected by the Black Mercy.
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater. Supergirl season two is also adding recurring roles for Lynda Carter as the President of the United States, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
Supergirl airs at 8/7c p.m. Mondays on The CW. The second season premieres on October 10th.
