HBO has submitted photographic proof of its long-term relationship with Sarah Jessica Parker, releasing the first image of its upcoming series “Divorce.” Billed as “the story of a very, very long divorce,” Parker exec produces and stars in the series. She plays Frances, a woman reassessing her life and her marriage. Unfortunately for her, the character finds that making a clean break and getting a fresh start are harder than she thought. Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam and Tracy Letts are also series regulars.
“Divorce” was created by Irish actor-writer-director Sharon Horgan, who gained attention stateside earlier this year for co-creating the relationship comedy “Catastrophe” with Rob Delaney. Horgan also exec produces, as do Paul Simms, Alison Benson and Aaron Kaplan.
During his panel at last summer’s Television Critics Association press day, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said he hoped the series would premiere in spring or summer 2016
