Although Lily Collins was, last year, said to be up for a role in the ensemble romantic comedy How to Be Single, The Hollywood Reporter today has an update that, while it doesn’t it include the The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones star, does confirm the additions of Alison Brie (“Community,” The Five-Year Engagement), Leslie Mann (This is 40, Knocked Up), Dakota Johnson (Need for Speed, Fifty Shades of Grey), Dan Stevens (The Guest, “Downton Abbey”) and Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Pain & Gain). The film adapts the 2008 novel by Liz Tuccillo, officially described as follows:
“How to Be Single” is the story of Julie Jenson, single New Yorker turned anthropologist. After a historically bad night out with her friends, Julie decides to cash it all in and hit the road. From Paris to Brazil to Sydney, Bali, Beijing, Mumbai and Reykjavik, Julie travels the world to find out if anyone has a better idea how to handle this whole single thing. Julie falls in love, gets her heart broken, sees the world, and learns more than she ever dreamed possible.
Back in New York, her friends are grappling with their own issuesbad blind dates, loveless engagements, custody battles, and single motherhood. Through their journeys, each woman fights to redefine their vision of love, happiness and a fulfilled life.
