Fox has given a put-pilot commitment to Strange Conditions, a new medical drama from Danny Strong, co-creator of the network’s hit series Empire.
Hailing from writer and executive producer Wes Jones, Strange Conditions is set five minutes in the future, and focuses on a group of whiz-kid medical experts who take on surprising medical mysteries. Each team member is an expert in his or her own field, from bio-ethics to psychology. The show tells the story of the cases they solve and the internal clashes they face.
Strange Conditions is produced by Danny Strong Productions and Zaftig Films in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Stacey Greenberg, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, Charlie Gogolak, and Henry Finder also exec produce. Finder generated the original idea for the series.
The medical drama is the third project Strong has set up at Fox this season. The network is also working with the producer on legal dramas The Midnight Lawyer and Infamy. Jones has served as a writer on the Showtime drama series Billions. Requa and Ficarra directed and serve as exec producers on NBC’s top-rated drama series “This Is Us,” which is also produced by 20th Century Fox TV. All principals are represented by CAA.
