Fox Searchlight Pictures has unveiled a new trailer and poster for the historical black comedy The Favourite starring Emma Stone, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz. The film, which has just scored rave reviews out of Telluride, opens November 23rd.
Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone star as two ladies in waiting to Olivia Colman’s Queen Anne, the Duchess of Marlborough. As Anne’s health and mental faculties fail and England’s war with France drags on, the royal court grows progressively debaucherous.
Weisz’s Lady Sarah is effectively ruling in Anne’s stead, but the arrival of Stone’s charming and ambitious new servant Abigail throws the power dynamics into chaos.
