The Federal Trade Commission is investigating semiconductor giant Broadcom to see if it has engaged in anticompetitive tactics in negotiations with customers, per a report in the WSJ.
According to the report, the probe has been going on for several months. Broadcom has changed some of its contracts so that they now call for customers to buy a percentage of its output of a certain item rather than an absolute number, some of the people said. This method of sales has lead to antitrust concerns it might might limit other customers’ access toparts and product.
It worth noting the FTC conducts probes all the time that never any enforcement action.
