Fujifilm X-Pro 1interchangeable lens camera may have had its US prices slip out through Amazon starting to take pre-orders. The X-Pro1 body shows as costing $1,700 by itself, making it one of the more expensive non-SLRs available. Lenses are more in line with expectations and have the 18mm F2.0 and 35mm F1.4 primes each costing $600, while the 60mm F2.4 macro could cost slightly more at $650.
Both the camera and its lenses are due to ship later this month, although Amazon didn’t give clues as to the exact timing. Fujifilm hasn’t officially provided details.
The X-Pro1 likely carries a premium for its exotic sensor. Fujifilm has touted better-than-DSLR image quality through a layout that reduces moirĂ© and should be sharper overall. The company’s distinctive optical viewfinder with electronic overlay is also a stand-out, as is a lens mount system that keeps lenses from protruding too far from the body.
