Google Adds More Social Features to Photos App

Google this week made its new Google Photos app available to Android and iOS devices, as well as on the web.

The revised photo management application adds several hallmark features, including suggested sharing and shared libraries. The suggested sharing tool will automatically scan images and offer to share them with family and friends based on the content and location of the photos. The feature is off by default and needs to be manually switched on. The shared libraries tool is meant to help people more easily share and collaborate on collections of images and videos.

Google first announced this new version of Google Photos at its I/O developer conference in May. Google Photos is free to download from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store.
