Google today said an update to its Inbox email application will make it possible to (almost) automatically respond to emails.
A new feature called Smart Reply will suggest up to three responses to emails based on the content within. Users need only select the appropriate automatically-generated response and move on.
For emails that require a longer, more measured response, Smart Reply will still offer several suggestions to get you started. Google says the feature is powered by machine learning, which recognizes which emails need responses and suggests the most relevant set of possible replies.
Google says Smart Reply will get better the more people use the feature.
Inbox is an alternate to Gmail and is free to download from the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store.
