A few weeks ago, it was rumored that Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!, Blue Jasmine) had emerged as the frontrunner for the lead role in Phil Lord and Chris Miller‘s 2018 Han Solo Star Wars Story film. Since then we have had no confirmation of anything from the picture, but in honor of May the 4th (a.k.a. Star Wars Day), Miller has tweeted a shot of Han Solo’s iconic blaster on a set which may or may not be the Millennium Falcon. Whether this is a set photo from The Force Awakens or new sets being constructed for Miller’s Han Solo movie we’re not sure, but it’s a fun reminder that we still have more adventures ahead for our favorite scruffy lookin’ nerf herder.

The screenplay for the Han Solo movie is written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan and will focus on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley. It has also been confirmed that Chewbacca will also be a featured character in the film and, while unconfirmed, it’s likely that The Force Awakens‘ Joonas Suotamo will reprise the role.
Slated for a May 25, 2018 release, the Han Solo movie will be executive produced by Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Will Allegra. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, meanwhile, hits theaters December 16, 2016. Gareth Edwards directs that film, which serves as an immediate prequel to A New Hope, taking a look at what was involved in the rebels’ heist of the Death Star plans.
