Mike Judge, the director of “Office Space” and “Idiocracy” and the creator of “Beavis and Butt-head” and “King of the Hill,” is on his way back to the small screen. “Silicon Valley,” a single-camera live-action comedy from Judge and fellow “King Of The Hill” executive producers John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky, has been greenlit to pilot at HBO.
Judge will direct the pilot, which he co-wrote with Altschuler and Krinsky, and it will be set in the Northern California region of the title and will deal with how the tech boom has meant that “the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.” The pilot will be shot in the spring, and is being executive produced by Scott Rudin alongside Judge, Altschuler and Krinsky and 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Tom Lassally.
“King of the Hill,” which centered around a middle class family living in a small Texas town, ran for 13 seasons on Fox.
