Hitcase has launched its Hitcase Pro for the iPhone 5 offering outdoor types ruggedized protection for their iPhone as well as enhanced camera optics for action shots. In addition to a range of mounting options, the Hitcase Pro also incorporates a 3x wide-angle lens that increases the iPhone 5’s field of view to 170 degrees. The product also ships with a free companion app, Vidometer, which allows users to record their speed, altitude, shock and G-Force on top of videos for instant upload to YouTube.
The Hitcase Pro uses an ABS/Polycarbonate exterior combined with a dual cushioning system that utilizes Poron to absorb vibration and impacts. It is also water resistant to a depth of 33 feet or 10 meters, which the company says is the deepest of any touchscreen case on the market. At the same time, Hitcase also says that users can quickly access the iPhone from the case in under 3 seconds.
The Hitcase Pro is retailing for $130 with models for both the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4/4S. The pack includes a Hitcase Pro, 1x GoPro compatible railside mount, 1x tripod ‘tiltr,’ 1x ‘stickr’ mount, 1x wrist strap as well as an additional port plug. The Vidometer app is available free from the App Store.
