The PlayStation 3 port of Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational will be released in North America on July 23 for $19.99 on PlayStation Network, publisher Sony Computer Entertainment announced today.
World Invitational was a PlayStation Vita launch title in Japan (December 2011) and North America (February 2012). Developer Clap Hanz released a PS3 port in Japan last November, and Sony said this past March that the port would be available stateside this summer. The PS3 version can be played by up to four players locally, and it supports PlayStation Move.
The game is also part of Sony’s Cross-Buy and Cross-Play programs: Users of the PS Vita and PS3 versions will be able to play online together, and all PS Vita downloadable content is compatible with the PS3 version. However, there’s no indication that owners of the PS Vita version will automatically have the PS3 version unlocked on their PSN accounts.
However, World Invitational only supports Cross-Buy for its DLC, a Sony Computer Entertainment representative has confirmed. Buyers of either the PS3 or PS Vita versions will not receive the other version for free.
