Hotline Miami is releasing on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on June 25. For $10/£7.29/€8.99, Hotline Miami comes with new upgrades, trophies, touch-based lock-on, leaderboards, and an exclusive mas, Russell the Raging Bull. It’s also a cross-buy title, so one purchase gains players access to both versions.
“Russell is hidden early in the game,” according to publisher Devolver Digital, “and when equipped will turn the entire game black and white save the neon text and red blood left behind as you rampage through each floor of every level. It’s a really neat effect, and even changes up the video filter a bit to give the whole game a classic film look.”
If you didn’t cath the PC version of the game, it takes you into the neon-soaked underground of 1980s Miami as bizarre messages on your answering machine seem to be urging you to commit terrible acts of violence — but will you obey? Hotline Miami overflows with raw brutality and skull crushing close combat as you find yourself outgunned and using your wits to choreograph your way through impossible situations.
An unmistakable visual style, a driving soundtrack, and a surreal plot that will have you question your own thirst for blood. Bash and blast through over 20 multiscreen levels with 35 unique weapons and collect 25 game-altering masks in one of the darkest and most unusual independent games on the scene.
