On Thursday Hewlett Packard (HP) announced the expansion of its thin client solutions portfolio with the upcoming launch of the t310 All-in-One Zero Client and the HP t520 Flexible Thin Client. The company also announced an updated HP ThinPro 5.0, its embedded Linux operating system for Thin Clients.
Slated to launch in July, the HP t310 All-in-One Zero Client is optimized for PCoIP and VMware environments, and is ideal for small workplaces thanks to its minimal size. This thin client features a 23-inch LED-lit widescreen display, a fanless design, “quiet thermals,” a mouse and a keyboard.
The specs reveal a TERA2321 PCoIP Zero Client processor, 512 MB of DDR3 SDRAM, and 256 MB of flash memory. There are also six USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet port, DVI-I video output (1920 x 1080), two 1 watt speakers, a headphone jack and a microphone jack.
Available in August, the HP t520 Flexible Thin Client is a mainstream thin client solution that provides a “seamless” virtual desktop experience. The client is ideal for manufacturing, financial services, and call centers, and allows businesses to choose the operating system and client virtualization solutions.
The specs reveal an AMD GX-212JC dual-core APU with AMD Radeon HD Graphics (1.2 GHz), 8 GB of DDR3L 1600 MHz memory, and an M.2 SSD with a capacity ranging from 8 GB to 64 GB. This client also features dual-band Broadcom Wireless N and Bluetooth connectivity, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.2, one VGA output, one Ethernet port and more.
As for HP Thinpro 5.0, this solution has a new user-friendly interface that combines the HP ThinPro OS and the HP Smart Zero Core, which allows businesses to quickly switch between the two when needed. “Users also can customize their desktop, easily manage the system with automatic updates from HP.com or a USB key, and restore points for unique configurations and enhanced security features,” states the company’s release announcement.
According to HP, ThinPro 5.0 is slated to be available in June at no additional cost on HP flexible series thin clients.
