HP has updated four of its high-end notebooks and convertibles, including a the rebirth of the Envy 13 notebook. The event happen during Cannes Film Festival, so we here at ToT were a little shocked not to see a new Zbook in the mix. Then again NAB was only a short time ago.
The new models also include a larger 17.3-inch Envy 17 laptop to complement the Envy 13, the Envy x360 15-inch convertible, and the refreshed Spectre x2 slate tablet with a detachable keyboard. While these are all computers starting prices come in around the $1,000 mark: the Spectre x2 begins at $999.99, the Envy x360 is $899.99, the Envy 13 starts at $1,049, and the Envy 17 begins at $999.99.
The new 12.3-inch Spectre x2.now sports a seventh-generation Core i7, as well as 8GB of RAM and space for two 360GB NVMe M.2 SSDs.
The new tablet includes a multi-touch 3000×2000 display, a kickstand, a detachable keyboard and a Windows Ink-certified pen. HP claims battery life up to eight hours in mixed usage, and can be recharged from empty to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
Now, the Envy 13 and Envy 17 are standard notebook. The Envy 13 is an ultrabook, while the Envy 17 is more of a desktop replacement, if that is still a term the kewl kids use. Both sport an UHD touchscreen and can be configured with seventh-generation Core i3, i5, or i7 processors, as well as dedicated Nvidia graphics cards.
Last of the new machine is the 15.6-inch Envy x360 convertible notebook. You can have the notebook pack either a Full HD or a 4K multi-touch display. You can also spec out the machine with Core i-series or AMD processors along with dedicated Nvidia graphics. Plus you can flip over the keyboard to use the machine in tablet mode or tent mode. HP says the battery will last more than eight hours when used to watch videos.
All of the new models will be available starting next month.
