HTC today warned that revenue for the first quarter of the year will be down 17% compared the fourth quarter of last year. HTC has had a decline in sale for about 18 months, and today announced plans to enter the entry-level smartphone market.
HTC spent the last 14 months focusing on mid-level and high-end products for established markets. HTC will offer its first low-cost models to China and emerging markets in order to boost sales volumes.
HTC will debut a new high-end, flagship smartphone at a press event taking place in New York later this month, according to Reuters.
