Some people have been encountering serious problems within the first day of using iCloud and iOS 5, complaints indicate. At the moment Apple itself is acknowledging “intermittent slowness” when accessing iCloud, an issue that began around 1:37AM Pacific time but is still ongoing.
Broader complaints have been directed at iOS 5. On Wednesday the company’s activation servers were overloaded, resulting in many “3200” errors that rendered devices temporarily useless. In other cases the mandatory restore process involved in the upgrade has been failing with an “internal error,” which is again believed to be connected to Apple server load. One possible workaround is to Option-click (in Windows, Shift-click) “Check for Update” in iTunes, which will let people manually retrieve the IPSW file appropriate to their device(s).
