Injustice: Gods Among Us will receive a playable demo next week, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced. The Injustice: Gods Among Us demo will be available to download on Xbox 360 and PS3 from April 2 in North America and April 3 in Europe.
Fans will be able to fight as Batman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor in the Gotham City Arena. The news comes days after Injustice: Gods Among Us was announced for mobile devices. The mobile game will connect with Injustice: Gods Among Us on consoles, allowing users to earn achievements in both games that unlock six character skins in the other version.
Announced last year, Injustice: Gods Among Us is said to have a deep, original story, taking place in “a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred”. It features a growing list of heroes and villains from the DC Universe, including Harley Quinn, Superman, The Flash, Catwoman, Solomon Grundy, Nightwing, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Bane, Deathstroke and The Joker.
NetherRealm is developing the title following 2011’s success with Mortal Kombat. In 2008, the team also created Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe as Midway Games. The developers have dropped the traditional three-round fighting system, opting instead for a “more cinematic” single-round system.
Injustice: Gods Among Us will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on April 16 in North America and April 19 in Europe.
