Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston are gearing up for another project together as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the pair will headline a new STX Entertainment comedy, Significant Others. The project, which is being written by Laggies scribe Andrea Seigel, also has Bateman attached to direct. Bateman made his feature film directing debut with 2014’s Bad Words. His latest directorial feature, The Family Fang, premiered during last fall’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Significant Others will feature Aniston as a successful businesswoman on the verge of a major promotion. Before the company will sign off, however, they want to meet her stay at home husband (Bateman).
Aniston and Bateman first appeared together in Peyton Reed’s 2006 comedy The Beak-Up. Since then, they’ve appeared together in The Switch, Horrible Bosses and Horribles Bosses 2. They’re also set to appear together again in the upcoming Office Christmas Party. Josh Gordon and Will Speck are directing the Paramount Pictures comedy, which also has T.J. Miller, Kate McKinnon and Randall Park attached to star. Look for it to hit the big screen December 9.
In addition to Office Christmas Party, Aniston has several different films on the way in the months to come. She joins the ensemble cast of Gary Marshall’s Mother’s Day on April 29, headlines the Sean Anders comedy Mean Moms on December 31 and stars opposite Jack Huston, Alden Ehrenreich, Tye Sheridan, Toni Collette and Jason Patrick in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Kevin Powers’ The Yellow Birds, currently without an official release date.
Bateman, meanwhile, is in theaters now as the voice of Zootopia‘s leading fox, Nick Wilde. The film, from directors Rich Moore and Byron Howard, was released last Friday and has already pulled in a record breaking $238 million worldwide.
