Netflix’s “House of Cards” has added another big name to its list of headline-grabbing helmers: Jodie Foster will direct one of the episodes in the popular political thriller’s second season.
Neither the studio nor show runner Beau Willimon will comment on plot details or run date for the Kevin Spacey drama, but the news doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Foster also helmed an episode of fellow Netflix show “Orange is the New Black.”
“House of Cards” is nominated for nine Emmy Awards, including a directing nod for director-producer David Fincher. Other season one directors included Joel Schumacher and James Foley. Fincher, who is helming the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel “Gone Girl,” has stated he will not direct an episode in “House of Card’s” upcoming second season.
