Johnny Depp is officially attached to headline Wally Pfister’s directorial debut Transcendence. With a shoot scheduled to begin in April, Depp will also be able to headline the Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass, set to begin production this summer.
Although no official plot details have been revealed, recent reports suggest that Transcendence will feature Depp as a scientist who uploads his consciousness into a computer.
The film is being financed and produced by Alcon Entertainment’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove and will be released by Warner Bros.
