Joker has pulled in a record $13.3 million in Thursday night previews in North America.
The box office is well above the $10 million in previews earned a year ago by Venom which went on to an $80 million opening weekend haul. Plus it’s highest number a preview night has pulled in since The Lion King made $23 million in July.
The R-rated Joker has been forecast for a debut in the $80-95 million range this weekend domestically. Joker also pulled in $5.4 million in international previews and early showings Wednesday in four markets.
