Although no cast has yet been confirmed for the upcoming second season of HBO’s “True Detective,” The Hollywood Reporter today brings word that director Justin Lin (“The Fast and Furious” films, Better Luck Tomorrow) will helm two of the new episodes. Having multiple directors marks a departure from the style of the first season, during which series creator Cary Fukunaga helmed all eight chapters.
Colin Farrell remains the rumored frontrunner for season two with Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn also said to be in talks. Variety, meanwhile, reports that Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss are both up for the female lead.
Nic Pizzolatto is scripting the second season of “True Detective,” which is expected to air on HBO sometime in 2015.
