Microsoft has announced that new sales of the Xbox 360’s Kinect 3D camera sensor will include a download code for Q Entertainment and Ubisoft’s ethereal shooter Child of Eden starting next week.
The free download will come in addition to the currently-included Kinect Adventures, and apply to all Xbox Live regions except for Japan, where Child of Eden is not yet available. The price for the new bundle will be the same as that for the old bundle — $150 in the U.S.
While Child of Eden can also be controlled with a standard Xbox 360 controller, the game has been hailed by critics as one of the most engaging uses of the Kinect since its was first demonstrated at E3 2010.
The game led Amazon’s multiplatform sales charts in the U.S. for two weeks following its June release, though it failed to appear in NPD’s top ten new retail sellers for the month.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft delayed a planned, Move-enabled PS3 version for the title to a September release.
