The GTX 980 launched two weeks ago, and slowly the water cooling vendors are coming out with their respective water blocks. The current contender is Koolance, which is launching its VID-NX980, a water block for the reference GTX 980 graphics card from Nvidia.
Unlike other vendors, Koolance has decided to only build a single variant of the water block, and considering that it is a nickel-plated copper block with an Acetal top, that’s not even such a bad thing. It is built with a 0.5 mm micro-fin structure over the GPU area for heat dissipation, and it also covers the memory and VRM circuitry. It comes with the popular G1/4″ fittings, so if you already have a custom water loop, chances are it will be compatible.
The Koolance VID-NX980 is available immediately with a $129.99 price tag. Ordering them in bulk (for SLI configurations, perhaps) can give you small discounts.
