The Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 has landed at Best Buy priced aggressively at $300. Lenovo has priced the tablet at $350 on its website, but the lower price point at Best Buy pushes into the sphere of consideration for buyers thinking about purchasing the Nexus 7. It is powered by a TI OMAP dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, but also offers a larger 9.7-inch IPS display with a 1024×768 resolution as well as microSD expansion.
The Lenovo IdeaTab is pre-loaded with Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ and incorporates a single, front-facing camera with 1.3-megapixels for still and video. The device weighs in at just 1.28lbs, though manages to pack in four speakers with SRS TruMedia sound enhancement. In addition to the microSD slot, the device also includes a micro HDMI port and a micro-AB USB port.
The device comes in either 8GB, 16GB or 32GB versions, with the model on sale at Best Buy said to be the 16GB variant. However, there do appear to be some specification differences between the version on the Lenovo site and the model on the Best Buy site. If accurate, the Best Buy variant is claimed to carry a quad-core Tegra processor and a display with a slightly higher resolution.
