The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 notebooks introduced in March are now shipping. The X220 and X220t are available on the company’s site with prices slightly different than originally believed. The X220 starts at $849 rather than $899, while the tablet version is $1,249 rather than $1,199.
Either notebook has a 12.5-inch screen with a 1366×768 resolution, but the tablet has the expected multitouch layer. Either gets powered by a standard 2.1GHz Core i3 CPU, with 2GB for the less expensive notebook, and twice that in the tablet. A 250GB hard drive is standard in both.
Options include 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7GHz Core i5 and Core i7 chips on the tablet version only. There is also a 320GB hard drive with 5400RPM or 7200RPM speeds, and either a 128GB or 160GB SSD for either. Up to 8GB of RAM is also available.
