Lenovo has put up a pair of Android tablets from its IdeaTab range up for pre-order in the United States. The IdeaTab A1000 and IdeaTab A3000 both offer 7-inch 1024×600 displays, run on Android Jelly Bean, and have relatively similar specifications, the A3000 adds to the 0.3MP front webcam by having a 5-megapixel counterpart on the rear.
The A1000 uses a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8317 processor with 1GB of RAM, while Unwired View notes the more expensive A3000 oddly uses a single-core MT6575 clocked at 1GHz. Both also provide Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 16GB of storage, and a microSD card slot, but even though both have the same 3,500mAh battery, the A1000 is said to work for eight hours but the A3000 will work for only seven.
A third tablet on the website, the A2107, is listed as “Coming soon.” Using the same processor as the A3000, the A2107 uses the older Android 4.0, appears to have an option for 3G connectivity, and has a two-megapixel camera on the rear, but shares a number of core specifications with the other two tablets.
The IdeaTab A1000 and A3000 are on sale for $189 and $229 respectively, with shipping set to begin from June 12th.
