Lenovo has announced a new Ice Cream Sandwich-based handset that diverts from the K800’s use of an Intel processor. Entitled the “Music Phone” the China-bound K860 sports a five-inch display with 1,280×720 resolution and a quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, which is claimed by ZOL to have 1GB of RAM and a Mali-400MP GPU for support.
An eight-megapixel rear camera has support for 100-frame continuous shooting and recording at 1080p, and is matched by a two-megapixel front-facing camera. Although the GPU will apparently reduce power consumption by a fifth compared to previous models, Lenovo are still bundling a 2,250 mAh battery with the handset. The “Music” part of its name is apparently a reference to specific apps, such as “Music Sync” and “Music Voice.”
No release dates or price estimates have been released for the K860 as of yet.
