Logitech has provided details of three portable speakers for its new Ultimate Ears range. The UE Boombox and UE Mobile Boombox both allow for audio streaming through Bluetooth from up to 50 feet away. Up to eight mobile devices can be paired with the speakers, while three can be connected at the same time to the Boombox, two to the Mobile, allowing multiple users to take turns playing music. Battery life is claimed to be up to six hours for the main version, and ten for the Mobile.
The UE Smart Radio can stream and play Internet radio stations, but it can also play music from a PC or Mac. A color screen displays station information as well as the album artwork and track details, as well as functioning as the primary user interface. An app for iOS and Android devices can also control the UE Smart Radio remotely, while the rechargeable battery is said to last for up to six hours of continuous playback.
All three will be out in September in Europe, but a further release for the US market hasn’t been mentioned. The UE Boombox will go on sale for around $250, the mobile version for $100, and the UE Smart Radio for $18
