Logitech has introduced a new gaming keyboard and mouse for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and a new high-precision laser mouse designed to make surfing the web easier. The Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105 and Laser Mouse G9X have a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare theme. They have green LED backlighting that recalls military night vision equipment. The Wireless Mouse M525 is a high precision compact laser mouse for general use that has several features to make web surfing easier and faster.
The CoD-themed G105 keyboard has an additiona six programmable keys, each of which have with three mode states for a total of 18 possible macro combinations per game. Macros can be programmed with keystrokes, multi-key combinations, user-defined delays, and mouse commands. Macros can also be recorded automatically with the free Logitech Gaming Software. The G105 has multi-key input that permits the use up to five keys at once. It also has a game/desktop toggle to disable the Windows and Context menu keys to eliminate game-stopping accidental keypresses.
The Laser Mouse G9X features on-the-fly adjustment from 200dpi to 5700dpi. It recognizes hand speed of up to 165 inches per second on most popular gaming mouse pad surfaces. It uses a USB that recognizes up to 1000 reports per second. The scroll wheel can switch between precision and frictionless moded. The G9X has a weight-tuning system that can add up to 28 grams of extra weight to customize the mouse for a more comfortable feel. The mouse’s LED color can also be customized through the user interface.
The Wireless Mouse M525 is a compact laser mouse that uses Logitech’s Unifying Receiver for use with up to five other compatible wireless Logitech devices. The company claims battery life of up to three years. The company says scroll wheel has more grooves per millimeter, claiming that gives the scroll wheel more precision. The scroll wheel also has a tilt feature to scroll through pages quickly with a swipe gesture.
Expected availability for the Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105 for the U.S. and Europe is October, with a retail price of $80. The Logitech Laser Mouse G9X is expected in the U.S. and Europe in November. It will sell for $100.
The Logitech Wireless Mouse M525 is compatible with Windows (XP or higher), Max OS X 10.5+, and Linux kernel 2.6+ and requires a USB port or existing Logitech Unifying Reciever. It is available in red, black, blue, lime green, and white. Retail price is $40.
