Amazon’s UK-based Lovefilm has signed a multi-year deal with Twentieth Century Fox. The agreement will allow the streaming rental service to play Twentieth Century Fox films and TV series to it’s users, including early seasons of Sons of Anarchy as well as all seasons of 24, Prison Break, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and spin-off Angel.
The agreement is the latest in a long line of similar deals Lovefilm has made with other distributors to increase its product catalog. Last month, NBC Universal films joined the roster, and earlier updates to the service brought Sony, ABC, BBC, and ITV programming to the service, shortly after streaming rental competitor Netflix expanded to the UK and Ireland in January.
Subscribers will be able to access the new content from July onwards, however films released in the UK during 2011 will not be viewable until March 2013 at the earliest. Users that rent DVD and Blu-ray titles through the post will not have their service affected.
