Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike sequel, (rumored to be titled Magic Mike XXL) is set to hit theaters on July 3, 2015. Greg Jacobs, longtime assistant director to the original’s Steven Soderbergh, will direct.
Set in the world of male strippers, the original Magic Mike starred Channing Tatum in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.
Although Magic Mike 2 is the first to claim the July 3 date (a Friday), Paramount Pictures has Terminator: Genesis slated to open two days earlier on July 1.
Although no official announcements have been made as of yet, most of the cast from the original Magic Mike are expected to return for the sequel.
