We here at ToT love Epic Games’ Gears of War franchise, but let’s face it the multiplayer modes are not up to those of Halo, Call of Duty, etc.
So are Bleszinski and crew planning to fix multiplayer? Epic has released a behind-the-scenes documentary discussing the multiplayer component for Gears of War 3, which is focused on the multiplayer part of the game and how it will be much better than before.
Modes such as Horde return along with new options such as Beast mode and Team Deathmatch, which will be slightly different compared to what players see in other online shooters.
“It’s actually a pool of lives that each team has,” says Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski in the video. “You take out a bad guy, you take away from their pool, ultimately resulting in them running out of lives.”
A beta for Gears of War 3 debuts April 25, but owners of the Epic Edition of first-person shooter Bulletstorm can check out the game on April 18.
